The Mission is by far my favorite place to be in Santa Barbara! I'm not even religious but I really appreciate what went into it and the beauty of the entire building, inside and out. Purely just sitting inside is enjoyable. They are pretty strict about photos but they may have loosen the rules as of the past few years, it has been a while since I've been back. Days spent at the rose garden are the most enjoyable. My kids loved playing there all day long with a ball! I have to plan a trip back, it has been way too long! Hopefully my favorite hotel is still good to go, the Sandman Inn (www.thesandmaninn.com). Richly kept and not too expensive, the best part by far!

Great pictures of Santa Barbara. Glad you went to the Mission-it is one of the best places to see in town! They can be a bit strict on the rules about flash photography so watch out. I've gotten in trouble for that a number of times. Besides for that, snap away! I bet Germany was a great place to go to school-I have always wanted to go there. Visit Berlin and so forth! I hear it is positively beautiful. Glad you got to visit this amazing town. If you ever come back you should really check into surfing or hiking. Two of my favorite things to do here, just about any time of the year too. One of my favorite places to stay is right by great spots to do both of these-the South Coast Inn (www.goleta-hotel.com).

Santa Barbara is one of the best cities to travel to and escape the madness of the big city. I travel up the coast all the time to escape LA and the hectic lifestyle it entails. The beautiful scenery and lack of traffic is one of my favorite things about SB. The South Coast Inn (www.santa-barbara-hotel.com) is a lovely hotel and a great place to catch up on some much needed R&R.

This is a great blog and Santa Barbara is a great town! Glad you had a good times there! SO hard not to, there is so much to do there for just about anyones preference. I was just there and had a great time hiking and beaching all day long. Stayed at the Sandman Inn (www.thesandmaninn.com). So affordable and the location is absolutely stunning as well; so close to all the entertainment SB has to offer!

Santa Barbara is a town that seems small enough to navigate but there are so many nooks and crannies that it is very easy to get lost-trust me I've been there. All the different sections of the city gets confusing unless you've lived there for years. I travel there all the time for business and I still get lost when I am driving to and from work functions at restaurants and buildings. I always stay at the South Coast Inn (www.santa-barbara-hotel.com). So elegant and the perfect business traveler hotel!

Robin, I agree with you. The Sandman Inn (www.thesandmaninn.com) is such a hidden gem in a very expensive city. For my first few trips to Santa Barbara I always left frustrated that I had spent so much on my hotels. It seemed like I could either stay at crappy motels or pay up the big bucks for a nice luxury hotel. Finding the Sandman was great because you truly get so much for such a great price!

Navigation is a great idea when traveling in a town like Santa Barbara. It is so easy to get lost. But, getting lost is half the fun of traveling right? Exploring new things? The beach and pier in SB are great, glad you checked out the Old Mission, it is positively beautiful. Whenever I come down from San Francisco to visit, I always stay at the Sandman Inn (www.thesandmaninn.com). A great place to stay with stunning amenities and rooms, it's the perfect place to stay if you are looking to travel on a budget. Just a tip!

My fiance at the time and I hiked the Zion Narrows in July of 2001, we did the 2 day sleep in the canyon super long hike through ankle deep water to chest deep water. It was my first such trek and it was amazing, hard and long. As we entered the narrows portion of the long trek my fiance asked me to marry him. I would love to do it again. Recently we found a website that offers amazing treks to places in your backyard and far away that we didn't know existed on www.iheights.com. We have 2 treks planned for this summer. Have fun and happy trails.

Also, da muss ich noch mal einen Kommentar abgeben. ALDI! Ich wusste ja, dass es hier welche gibt, war aber selbst noch nicht da. Wie sehen die aus? Was gibt's da alles? Ist die Produktpalette sehr viel anders als in Deutschland?

Der gute alte Garmin. Einfach ein guter Freund.

Und der Fuchs hat mal wieder bei Priceline zugeschlagen. Das ist meine Tina :-)!
