I'm not even religious but I really appreciate what went into it and the beauty of the entire building, inside and out. Purely just sitting inside is enjoyable. They are pretty strict about photos but they may have loosen the rules as of the past few years, it has been a while since I've been back. Days spent at the rose garden are the most enjoyable. My kids loved playing there all day long with a ball! I have to plan a trip back, it has been way too long! Hopefully my favorite hotel is still good to go, the Sandman Inn (www.thesandmaninn.com). Richly kept and not too expensive, the best part by far! The Mission is by far my favorite place to be in Santa Barbara! I've gotten in trouble for that a number of times. Besides for that, snap away! I bet Germany was a great place to go to school-I have always wanted to go there. Visit Berlin and so forth! I hear it is positively beautiful. Glad you got to visit this amazing town. If you ever come back you should really check into surfing or hiking. Two of my favorite things to do here, just about any time of the year too. One of my favorite places to stay is right by great spots to do both of these-the South Coast Inn (www.goleta-hotel.com). The Sandman Inn (www.thesandmaninn.com) is such a hidden gem in a very expensive city. For my first few trips to Santa Barbara I always left frustrated that I had spent so much on my hotels. It seemed like I could either stay at crappy motels or pay up the big bucks for a nice luxury hotel. Finding the Sandman was great because you truly get so much for such a great price! A great place to stay with stunning amenities and rooms, it's the perfect place to stay if you are looking to travel on a budget. Just a tip! Navigation is a great idea when traveling in a town like Santa Barbara. It is so easy to get lost. But, getting lost is half the fun of traveling right? Exploring new things? It was my first such trek and it was amazing, hard and long. As we entered the narrows portion of the long trek my fiance asked me to marry him. I would love to do it again. Recently we found a website that offers amazing treks to places in your backyard and far away that we didn't know existed on www.iheights.com. We have 2 treks planned for this summer.
